We pledged to keep you informed of developments and would like to provide you an update. Regarding SkyTeam, Continental intends to end its participation in the SkyTeam Alliance after the last scheduled flight on Oct. 24, 2009. We continue to work through the details of our planned exit from SkyTeam and entry into Star Alliance, but anticipate our participation in Star Alliance will begin promptly after we leave SkyTeam. We are committed to providing our OnePass members with opportunities to earn and redeem miles over an extensive network. We will be working hard with our good partners at SkyTeam, and our future good partners at Star, to make the transition from SkyTeam to Star Alliance as smooth as possible. Naja, meiner Erfahrung nach kann es ja dann nicht lange auf sich warten,bis Continental dann in den Himmmel gelobt wird. Immerhin ist es ja schließlich Star Alliance, und da es hier so viele Leute hier gibt die außer der Star Alliance alles andere verteufeln wird Continental hier im Forum wohl nun eine guten Start haben. Viel Glück Continetal, ich finde es schade das sie Skyteam verlassen haben!
Dass Continental zur Star Alliance kommt, ist sehr gut, da damit Strecken nach Südamerika neu im RTW angeflogen werden können (Equador z.B.)! Abgesehen davon ist dies die beste US Airline und da passt sie wesentlich besser zu LX, LH, SQ und NZ als zu AF / KLM etc. Zusätzlich erschliessen sich über den Pazifik GUAM und YAP..... Die Star Alliance wird langsam aber sich die Star Allianz im Fluggeschäft !
Yup. Hauptsache, man hört nicht vorzeitig auf mit der Erweiterung. Es gibt ja wirklich immer noch recht viel zu tun auf diesem Gebiet.
